Infinite Space

KEEP PROJECT-RELATED INFORMATION IN ONE PLACE
Being an Integrated Information Experience, Zet Universe provides an "Infinite Space" - one place to keep all of the project-related information. You can think of it as a traditional desktop found on Windows or Mac OS X computer, where you can save your files.

However, Infinite Space is is a rather advanced version of traditional desktop, being:

integrated - you can keep both traditional files and other things like "contacts", emails, IMs and so on in it,
infinite - it makes you free of physical screen limits providing you an infinite space to put all of your project-related stuff on it and organize it into the visually distinctive groups,
and smart - positions of all things within project groups will be saved and you'll find your information exactly where you've pinned it.

We call our Infinite Space as the Desktop Done Right.

MiniMap & Big Picture

USE SPATIAL MEMORY TO NAVIGATE ACROSS PROJECTS
Did you ever work with CAD-like apps or play Real-time Strategy Games? If yes, then the navigation principles built into Zet Universe will be rather familiar to you.

Use click-n-hold or touch-n-hold:

directly with things to move them around your Infinite Space,
with the blank space itself to move within it,
with the Mini-Map (your Infinite Space at 1:100 scale) to quickly jump between various locations on the map.

Use a "Pinch-n-Zoom" multi-touch gesture to:

zoom closer and see individual things like documents or web pages on the Infinite Space surface, or
zoom faraway to see the "Big Picture" where only the names of the projects & interest topics are shown, and navigate between the projects instead of individual things.

A combination of touchpad & mouse with touch input and pen helps you to efficiently navigate across your projects.

Total Recall

EXPLORE YOUR PAST PROJECTS
Being often overloaded with tons of things to work on, sometimes we can recall things best by specifying time of last interaction. Imagine if you could ask your computer to show your projects you worked on 5 days ago?

With "Total Recall" spatio-temporal view you can take a look onto your projects from time perspective.

So, if you remember the time when you've add a document or any other thing to one of your projects but can't recall its name or words, you can use the "Total Recall" view to see the particular place as it was looking like at specific time.

Think of it as your very own "Time Machine". *

Pinboard

QUICKLY RETURN TO YOUR CONTEXT AFTER INTERRUPTIONS
As we work on multiple projects full of docs, emails, web pages and so on, we are often being interrupted - colleagues ask questions, new emails show up, reminders and so on, and then we find ourselves struggling with recalling things we've been working on before those unnecessary interruptions.

Unlike in the traditional desktop in Windows or Mac, in Zet Universe you organize information by projects. To aid in faster navigation between last projects you've been working on, a special area called "Pinboard" allows you to:

"pin" your favorite places in the space (we call them "contexts") to the pinned contexts list (bottom left list) in the Pinboard. Click on the pinned context to quickly navigate to it,
"pin" your current things of interest to the pinned things list (bottom right list) in the Pinboard. Use "Navigate To" menu of the pinned thing to quick navigate back to it.

It's like Alt+Tab on steroids.

Simple Linking

DRAG ONE THING OVER ANOTHER TO LINK THEM TOGETHER
Sometimes it is important to link different things together and you can't just put them nearby as they belong to different projects. Drag one thing over another to keep this link in Zet Universe memory. Use the "Sidebar" pane to explore the linked things for the selected one.

Information X-Ray

GET INSIGHT INTO YOUR INFORMATION
When you work with a specific thing, that happens that you need to know what are the key concepts behind it: it could be the text keywords, or other things mentioned in the contents like people, or products, or other documents. Zet Universe provides an automated tag extraction for text-based content (including web pages) helping you to issue a full-text search query based on the selected keyword.

Semantic Markup

ADD MEANING TO EVERYTHING YOU PINNED TO THE SPACE
You can add semantic markup to every action and every information piece you pinned to the Infinite Space if you feel it is important for you to recall it later:

Set priority to the things you feel important,
Add general comments to things,
Treat things as "book", "place", or "conference" etc. as you wish,
Add geotags to things you pinned,
Add "milestones" for things (created, changed, etc.)

Full-Text & Semantic Search

FULL-TEXT SEARCH ACROSS ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION
Zet Universe provides you with an opportunity to issue the full-text search queries across all of your information, including web pages, documents, and so on. In contrast to traditional "Favorites" feature common for web browsers which only saves the link and its title, Zet Universe saves the whole page helping you to find it using any of the keywords found in its body, or by using the "Similar Things" search.

SEARCH IN CONTEXT OF WHAT YOU WORK ON RIGHT NOW
Zet Universe provides you with an opportunity to explore things that are relevant to what you currently work on by providing the "Similar Things" search. In the meantime it provides you with the semantically similar content, and in future it will take into account other moments including:

time when things were created or edited,
geolocation where things were created,
projects to which things belong(ed) to,
people who worked on these things,
kinds of things (book, place, author, etc.)

Zet Universe is a serious and playful integrated information experience for PMs working on the modern Post-PC devices that enable you to:

spatially organize all of your project information (docs, webpages, people, etc.) in one place,
focus on one project at time and easily switch between your projects by time accessed,
reuse your past knowledge & experience using content recommendations,
preserve work context by linking things together, adding comments, classifying things etc. to easily recall it later,
and dramatically decrease interruption costs by being able to quickly switch back to your previous work.
