The following document contains a list of known issues in Zet Universe Insider Preview for Windows.

SET UP

Windows SmartScreen blocks Zet Universe's Installer
Summary: When you download Setup.exe on a computer using Internet Explorer you get the following error:


Workaround: This error happens because our installer is not digitally signed. For now, click on "More Info", then click on button "Run anyway".
When running Zet Universe Installer on Windows 7 it says you need to install .NET 4.5
Summary: When you open Setup.exe on a computer running Windows 7 you get the following message:

Workaround: Zet Universe Insider Preview for Windows requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 to run. Click "Install" to let our installer automatically download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.
Zet Universe crashes after installation if you had previous versions of Zet Universe Beta
Summary: When you launch Zet Universe Insider Preview on a computer running one of the previous versions of Zet Universe Beta, Zet Universe Insider Preview crashes.

Workaround: Zet Universe Insider Preview for Windows doesn't support migration from previous versions. Please follow these instructions:

1. Go to %AppData%\Zet\
2. Delete everything in this folder
3. Restart Zet Universe.
Can't Run Zet Universe Installer on Windows XP or Windows Vista
Summary: When you open Setup.exe on a computer running either Windows Vista or Windows XP, you get the following error:

This is not a valid Win32 application.

Workaround: Zet Universe Insider Preview for Windows requires at least Windows 7.

SEARCH

PDF Files Are Not Indexed By Default
Summary: Zet Universe uses iFilters for the full-text search functionality. Our full-text search engine based on Lucene.Net relies on special file format-specific components called iFilters used to index proprietary file formats like PDF. PDF iFilter is usually distributed with popular PDF readers like Adobe Reader. 

Workaround:
  • Close “Zet Universe”,
  • Install a PDF reader application with PDF iFilter (e.g., Adobe Reader),
  • If necessary, reboot your PC,
  • Open “Zet Universe”,
  • Open "Settings" flyout, then open "Options", then click on "Rebuild Index" button,
  • Allow Zet Universe to index PDF files before they will become available for the full-text search queries.
Now you should be able to find PDF files by their contents.
Some PDF Files Are Not Searchable
Summary: Some older PDF files were created as images and are not currently indexable by the PDF iFilter, and thus cannot be searchable for in Zet Universe.

Workaround: There is no workaround.
Can't See More Than 50 Search Results At Once
Summary: Also there are no technical limitations to the number of search results obtained by Lucene.Net, in order to increase the speed of search results retrieval, only first 50 results will be shown by Zet Universe for the given query. 

Workaround:
Use more search terms to narrow down search results. There is currently no other workaround. Please let us know if you'd love to have more search results to be available by submitting your feedback via our UserVoice website.
Currently, Zet Universe is able to process only text-based documents including files created using Microsoft Office applications, and PDF files (only on 64-bit Windows installations by default), as well as web pages and other text-based files.

Text Is Not Searchable In Image Files

VISUAL INTERFACE

"Current" position in the minimap can go outside of the minimap rectangle
Summary: When minimap is enabled, and sufficient zoom level is enabled, "current" position's border might go outside of the minimap rectangle.

Workaround: There is no workaround.
Slow Performance
Summary: One of the core Zet Universe features is an innovative Topographic Clusters Visualization drawn around each group of things, visually resembling the topographic lines from geographic maps. This visualization requires advanced video card capabilities. It could slow down the application interface rendering during things movement or while changing current position in the infinite space.

Workaround: If it is possible to upgrade the video card in your PC or laptop, consider upgrading the video card. There is currently no other workaround.

FILES, WEB PAGES, & TOPICS

Files Are Not Renamed In Project Data Sources When You Rename Them In Zet Universe
Summary: If, for example, you import a file with name “Report.docx” into Zet Universe, and later rename it to, e.g., “Report - Best Practice.docx”. This will rename only the label associated with the file inside the Zet Universe space, the name of the file itself will remain the original one – “Report.docx”. This is an expected behavior.


Workaround: There is no workaround. Please let us know if you'd love to have file renames to be reflected in your project data sources by submitting your feedback via our UserVoice website.
Imported Web Pages Are Not Saved To Project Data Sources (e.g., a Dropbox Folder Of Your Project)
Summary: if, for example, you add a web page to the project space that uses a folder in Dropbox as its main data source, your web page won't be saved in your Dropbox folder. This is an expected behavior.
