It was almost two years ago when we've started the Zet Universe Insider Preview program. We've shipped more than 20 builds in the first year, between July 2015 and May 2016. We've received a lot of amazing feedback, thanks to you, and we've been encouraged to keep working on the product, all thanks to you, our Insiders!

​Our goal for the milestone we've started working on last Fall is to bring a reliable, high-quality version of Zet Universe for you. As you already have noticed, we've stopped shipping new builds since mid-2016. This time, however, we will disable the associated web services that support Insider Preview builds of Zet Universe.

Unlike the previous build which had only a change in the search syntax (albeit an important one!), in this build you'll have a unique chance to take a look at the behind-the-scenes of your projects information space - the ontology.

First of all, I'm very glad to wish you a Happy New Year! It's exactly 5 months now since we've started the program (July 13, 2015), and it was an amazing ride with you, Insiders. As people like to say, we are just getting started! As you might have noticed, we've been keeping silence since the very end of November 2015, and for a good reason. Our top priority goal was to restructure our underlying plugin platform, extract it into a separate package, and move all of our currently available plugins to our new platform.

Well, we've done that! We've also made a few improvements in this first build of 2016, build 5857.11090, though, and I can't wait to tell you about them.

Today we are rolling out Zet Universe build 5804.3097 to Zet Universe Insiders. We apologize for not releasing builds during the last few weeks, but we didn't that for a good reason. While working with some of the top Insiders, we've identified a few critical bugs that led to incorrect file change tracking, and we've been heads down on rebuilding the file change tracking subsystems for both local folders and Dropbox.

Our Sticky Notes saga continues, and we are glad to release a new build of Zet Universe Insider Preview today for you - 5771.307181 (we've pushed an updated build since yesterday's 5771.6176). I think you'll like things we've done in this build ;) After getting all the feedback on the Sticky Notes we've introduced lately last week, we've got a bunch of requests on how we could make Sticky Notes more useful to you. Today we are glad to share some of the things we've done...

In essence:

• you can now resize your Sticky Notes,
• if you've picked up the white background mode, Sticky Note will be transparent when it is not in focus.

We also fixed a few bugs since our original Flight 14 release half of a day ago:

• if you start a new sticky note, and write down using stylus, its placeholder text will disappear,
• you can open sticky note's properties using stylus and touch.

Today, albeit late, we have a new build for PCs going out to Zet Universe Insiders - Build 5766.40220. I have to apologize for releasing it later than usual (hey, it's almost end of the work week, and we tend to ship builds each Monday). However, we've got stuck with a very serious bug that made touch scrolling in the Navigation Pane unusable, and as we've been trying to fix it, we've got another one related to Windows Shell APIs, and we've lost three days fighting these bugs. We believe it is super important to ship new builds in a predictable manner, and yet we believe that our builds shall pass our internal stability and reliability requirements, and until we're fine with them, we can't ship the new bits to you, and if it means we'll have to postpone the build, we'll do that.

Speaking of the new build, I hope you were able to read the blog post about the last build and our updated product plans we've published on Wednesday last week. If you missed it, I encourage you to re-read it again, as the changes to the product plan are big enough. In short, we postpone some of the exciting features like semantic steering and rules engine, in favor of solving your more immediate needs like being able to add notes, preview your documents and start conversations around them, and define tasks right in your project spaces in Zet Universe. 

It's worth mentioning that we've got two separate requests for Notes Layer via our UserVoice Forum, and today, as it was teased in our Facebook Group, we are anxious to give you the first glimpse at one of these amazing features - Notes.

We're rolling out Zet Universe Insider Preview Build 5757.25390 right now to Zet Universe Insiders. As usual, this build includes bug fixes and improvements over Build 5751.2855, including the promised bug fixes for touch-based drag-n-drop from the Navigation Pane (frankly speaking, it's about time, as it was broken a few builds ago), as well as bug fixes for tracking local folders located in the user's profile (e.g., in Documents, Videos, and custom folders under the profile folder).

IMPORTANT: If you've already updated your Zet Universe to the Build 5757.3475, please grab the latest update to 5757.25390 to get fixes for Local Folders & Dropbox apps.

I hope that you were able to read our blog post from last Wednesday, where we shared more details on our current work on the upcoming SDK (Software Development Kit). If you missed it, we welcome you to read it, as it gives a good glimpse on our internal engineering processes and practices. We continue to be humbled by the amount of feedback and excitement we are seeing from the Zet Universe Insider community.

This week (albeit late) we are glad to return to our normal weekly schedule, and share the latest build with you - Build 2.0.5751.2855. Although most of the changes in it are under the hood (as we continue the refactoring process of our .NET class library), we are pleased to bring a few new features and bug fixes into the product as well.
